Add to this the fact that her baby was refusing to breast feed - and this after weeks of anguished persistance through pain at every feed, until she finally reached a point where breast-feeding became possible - and you can imagine her frustration. Sleep deprivation does odd things to the mind. “The two greatest mannequins of the century were Gertrude Stein and Edith Sitwell- unquestionably. You just couldn't take a bad picture of those two old girls.

Watching her in the video below and one begins to understand the existential threat she represented to the totalitarians in Cuba. She was a former school teacher turned human rights defender and international pro-democracy figure who courageously and nonviolently confronted Castro's half century old totalitarian dictatorship and paid for it with her life. Other things have kept me busy so that I haven't been able to stay on top of things like updating the challenge page. One of our new participants is Wanda and this first motif for the challenge is something she designed for Christmas which she thinks she might be able to work into a doily. Connie posted a picture of an imitation tatting doily done in crochet and here is Wanda's version done in real tatting. The "Colonial Lady Applique" from Aunt Ellen's Tatting Handbook, originally from a Workbasket pattern. Next we have an autumn bookmark and Wanda shares the patterns for the tree the bell and the bookmark. This latest motif is her first attempt at celtic tatting. Taffy anyone? Heather has some luscious HDT thread that looks like saltwater taffy.

Because To Sir did not rely on machines for effects and instead asked for actors to perform live, he hired instructors to train them for two months. The actors everyday learned to move at snail's pace. However the scene took two months to rehearse. In the physical training the actors had to learn to slow motion run, flip, shoot, and turn! To Sir said, "This slow motion action scene is pretty long and doesn't use production technique and post production. The actors perform themselves. via. The Winter Solstice - the return to longer daylight begins tomorrow. The good weather turned in to snow last week! We where lucky up here and didn't get it as bad as the mainland. My parents had a day without power due to snow on the lines! We did however get snow on the top of the hills here and on a brief walk to the supermarket Chris took this great photo. The Easter break has filled the hostel up this week and we have had a few bonfires to take the chill out of the north wind. Now Eva has just about finished working her magic transforming the rooms she has set her sights on the garden. The first buds are out on the trees, the bigest one in our garden is now lit up with solar powered fairy lights and hanging ornaments that light everything up at night. Till next time. After I morning like mine, I could use a little cuteness. Good thing we have enough of it at our house to go around!Okay, okay, I know I promised a post about Eden, but it's going to require more thought than I have time for right now. So, quickly. Laurie over at a gumbo pot would regale us with her Friday Fragments during her Honduras days. Yesterday I didn't experience Friday fragments as much as a fragmented Friday. Let me explain.
I know.It is just an expression. You already knew I was going to explain. oh my. The all knowing, all seeing, powers at Random. I love those magazines from Interweave. Such a great inspiration. And the dead were judged according what they had done, as recorded in the books". Observation: In this passage, John is describing the Great White throne judgment, where everyone will be judged according to what they did in this life. These books apparently contain records of everything we have said or done in this lifetime. We are told elsewhere that every knee will bow and every tongues confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. It appears this is the place because here each individual will stand before him and give account for what they did on the earth. Application: Imagine living life with a video recorder around you that recorded everything you did or said. Imagine knowing everything you did was being recorded in heaven. The fact is, this is happening! Everything we do, or don't do, is being recorded in heaven and we will stand before God and give an account one day of these things. This is a very scary thought. A thought that should help me live a better life each day. Boy did this make me laugh! Via The Observer: “We know the tobacco industry funds the IEA to do its dirty work and has been trying for years to undermine public health charities,” said Anna Gilmore, professor of public health at the University of Bath and director of the Tobacco Control Research Group. “In other words, the IEA is the tobacco industry’s sock puppet here. This policy change will only serve to increase corporate influence while silencing those acting in the public interest. ” In the public interest, eh Anna? Uh huh. Long time readers might remember the name of Anna "anything for a grant" Gilmore.
Lynn, Dave, and I just returned from International Quilt Market in Salt Lake City, Utah.It was a whirlwind weekend of wholesale buying and selling. This was our first time to be selling our patterns at the show, and I think we made a great first impression! Everyone loved our Blessings of Spring quilt, and are eagerly awaiting the debut of the next quilt in The Blessings Series. Holly Holderman, the designer of Lakehouse fabrics, also stopped by. Nireko from Lecien was able to take a look at our booth. Spray Painting Metal Accessories Found this cute metal leaf bowl at the thrift store the other day. I'll give you three chances to guess the final color and the first two tries don't count. After cleaning the bowl, I sprayed two coats of KILZ spray primer. You guessed it of course! Green! I used two coats of Rusto-oleum EDEN. Maybe if I express it here to the World Wide Web then I'll hold myself more accountable. Hello Ai fans! Today I have a couple of fun cards for you cat lovers out there. or they are perfect for that certain someone you know with a bit of a feline obsession. I dragged Julia to Boston with me yesterday.
I'm so lucky that she shares my crafty passion! Our first and most important stop was the Museum of Fine Arts.We headed straight for the Shapiro Family Courtyard to see this! After making a flag and reading so much about this online, it was a little overwhelming to see it in person. The toughest part about viewing the exhibit is that it stretches across a cafe in the middle of the courtyard. To see each flag, we'd have to lean over peoples' lunches, which is frowned upon at the MFA! After leaving the museum, we were starving, so we headed to the North End for pizza and passed this amazing display of wisteria in Christopher Columbus Park. This revelatory nugget sets up two distinct, discrete categories.
I'm going to belabor those two points, then I'm going to apply them. That is, He will not love your wife in your stead. Weeks of rain in NYC. Following a thunder clapping, sky blackening, torrential downpour last night, the sky turned golden and then hot pink. Pictured above is an unretouched shot of the beautiful moment. I was lucky enough to have recently met Sarah Fishburn. Sarah and some of her family are on a whirlwind road trip all over the United States. We spent an afternoon together wandering around NYC. Turns out Sarah is as warm, friendly, and humorous as she is talented, creative, and generous. And what a great family too! Sarah wanted me to send a shout out to everybody and let you know that she will be home and back to blogging very soon!If you liked the journal pages of Barron Storey that I recently highlighted here, head over to Kelly Kilmer's blog to learn a lot more about Barron, his art, and his publications. California bans lawful concealed carry on campuses – that should work.He was told to leave. Debbie Wasserman Schultz spoke at this event - the same Debbie Wasserman Schultz who said the Tea Party lacks civility - if you watch this video - I'd say actions speak louder than Debbie's lying accusations. Despite Obamacare, or because of it? The obit here doesn't tell us. WaPo reports it was natural causes. Neither story tells us how Hentoff really felt about Obama.

Christians are allegedly hypocritical because they "cherrypick" Scripture. For instance, they quote Leviticus on homosexuality, but eat shellfish and wear polyester. Yes, there really are people who raise that objection. Now, when I run across objections like that, my eyes roll. But I guess it's something we need to address. They regard faithful Christians as bigots. Suhour, eaten at Sahar is the most important meal during Ramadan. And as you prepare for this wondrous season and its traditional practices, one of the most dramatic things that you will probably remember is the deep-rooted ritual of the Musaharati – the man who heralds the approach of Suhour with the beating of his drum.

When your heart eagerly awaits the thread of light that appears on the horizon and you are overwhelmed by the heavenly rays that touch the earth. Oh wait. Andre is a Toronto based fitness trainer. Yet,I continue to believe that many of those who advocate social justice and believe that physicians should be the stewards of society's medical resources do so with sincerity and in the belief that these are meaningful terms and worthy goals while at least a few of us believe that allegiance to bogus concepts usually does not work out very well. After all if you do what is cost effective the group will benefit and through some type of metaphysical fairy dust so will your patient even if she or he is deprived on a beneficial test of procedure or medication because he/she is part of the group.
