Paul's transformation was one of the most famous transformations in Christian history. Here was a man who was a religious zealot. He was so convinced that the way the Pharisees worshipped God was the only way that he actively persecuted the early Christian church. He was present when Stephen became the first Christian martyr. There is something nostalgic and heartwarming about classic Christmas images. They probably remind us of days gone by and memories from holidays past. I've found a few images that inspired my post today and bring back memories from my past holidays growing up! First is a pretty truck with gifts.

Both sets of grandparents lived in Selby, South Dakota, so many Christmases we would travel there from Rapid City and spend the holidays with all of my cousins and aunts and uncles.

I loved having so many people around for the holidays! Now it feels so different just having a few people. Hi Friends! I'm finally back from my trip to Italy. and also I'm finally "back" - if you know what I mean. It always takes me about a week to really arrive back home: to get used to dollars instead of euros in my wallet, to stop thinking in Italian, to find my daily rhythm again. Even though it's back-tracking - I thought I'd do a post about some of the Emergency Vegan Supplies that I took with me on my trip. Okay. I'll keep creating! I've always been a red/white/blue girl, patriotic through and through - so this was a super fun set to make and I've been excited to get it posted.

今年所做的 Chinese New Year Cookies.

心血来潮做了Fried Crab Stick. I use DoDo Crab Stick. Left with some peanut powder from doing Sweet Potato Glutinous Rice Balls, use it up to make Peanut Cookies. Left with some Potato Starch, so decide to use it up and made 德国酥饼.

Overall find that the Nasi Briyani is good.

He is the Rootin'est Tootin'est cowboy around. This little cowboy got something pretty special for Christmas. A real rootin' tootin' cowboy hat. Was he excited? You bet your bottom dollar. Everywhere.

A true cowboy down to the soles of his boots.

It's a hoot.

I am working on it.

Then I started a half-assed shaker rib: a knit one, purl one rib, and then every other row I knit into the stitch on the row below, on the knit columns. But it'll add some thickness and stretch. Whatever. It's time to get this stupid thing done.

-Here is another photo, this time of me and the Goober. Red Peepers: Nine West. Last time I wore this dress it was a somewhat similar look as I wore it with the same red heels, but I just loved the bright red, blue, and white together so I had to do it again. I did however change up the belt and jewelry. Yay - today was my last day of meetings! Again, too exhausted to type too much, but should be back in full swing soon!. I've been working on those patterns again. I'm working from photographs so getting the right size is a bit tricky. Here is how I go about it.

First I print out a photo of the block and mark the half way mark.

Then I cut out some of this grid pattern making fabric. There are many disappointments in life. Making them, well, not even symbols.

That is too bad.

The cigar quotation is about the only thing I find the least bit interesting in what Freud was supposed to have said and written. And the pickings were good. Today was Max's Turkey Program at his preschool. All I can say is that I was incredibly proud of my little boy. Just think, it was two years ago today that Max had to be removed from the school's Turkey Program because he was tearing down the decorations. Today, he had a starring role.

My baby is growing up and it only cost me a trip to the video game store! Max before school, wearing the outfit that Nana and Taco sent! Max in front of our tree, waiting for the bus.

Max and his fellow "Turkeys".

More "Turkeys". I work a lot with watercolors and I've tried just about everything but recently I've taken a shine to bottles of liquid watercolors.

I think liquid watercolors are often associated with kids and classroom projects but I love having bottles of color on hand for bigger and messy watercolors projects.

They are affordable and offer a variety of really beautiful saturated color. You can even mix up your own colors. What I love most about them is that they are much easier to use with larger surfaces and messy mixed media techniques. I love filling a background with a wash of watercolor and using liquid color makes it WAY easier because you can fill a cup to dip large brushes. It is that time of the month for the September Really Reasonable Ribbon blog hop! You should have found your way here from my gal Gloria's. The september ribbons are right up my alley! All full of Halloween holiday cheer! I had so much fun playing with them. I had a large kraft bag and you know me and bags. I had to deck it out with Halloween finery. The ribbons were the icing on the cake. I simply tied bow after bow at the top of the bag. Love how the colors contrast and play off eachother. I also used them on a couple of smaller bags that I tucked in the larger one. So cheerful in a Halloweeny kinda way! Now your next stop is Ms. Emily's. If you get lost just start back at the rrr blog. Have fun! hugs, cherry. She's an athletic little twerp. Stay safe.
